It's a well built pedal and does a decent job, but is no where near transparent enough for my needs. <br /><br />It's funny you mention Hendrix because that's the same impression I got. It turned might tight metal machine of a JCM 800 into bassy JTM 45/100 with more than a touch of sag.<br /><br />Flip over to the neck pick up and on more extreme settings you get what I could only describe as a Big Muff Pi like effect without the violin sounding sustain. <br /><br />Switch over to the "normal" or clean channel and this is the one place I found it falls flat.
